German Travel Centre (www.germantravelcentre.co.uk), a specialist tour operator organising group airfares to Germany, highlights that the country is currently investing heavily in number of new venues for the conference and incentive market, with some significant new openings this year in Bonn, Berlin and Leipzig.

Recent openings include a new main building at the World Conference Center (www.worldccbonn.com) in Bonn. This new addition opened in June this year, and the complex is now a unique space featuring historic buildings, modern architecture, and beautiful outside space and lawns with views of the Rhine and high quality facilities and state-of-the-art equipment.

From this autumn conference and meeting organisers will be able to book the KONGRESSHALLE am Zoo Leipzig (www.kongresshalle.de), a state-of-the-art venue for meetings and conventions in a historic setting. This 19th century building has been fully restored to the tune of €37 million and is a fabulous setting for events in the centre of the city. The building is located next to Leipzig Zoo, one of the most innovative zoos in the world because of its scientific importance, making it an ideal choice for scientific events.

Berlin also sees a number of new openings, including a second complex at the Estrel Berlin (www.estrel.com) due to open in autumn 2015. Estrel Berlin will offer 25,000 square metres of event space with state-of-the-art facilities, suitable for all types of events for up to 12,000 people. Opening at the end of the year is the new TITANIC Business Hotel (www.titanic-hotels.com). This hotel has a total event space of 2,500 square metres for meetings and other events, with a ballroom of 1,800 square metres and 15 further conference rooms, as well as facilities include an authentic Turkish hammam.

Germany is becoming more attractive to conference organisers and saw the number of international meeting guests rise by 9% in 2014 from the previous year, reaching 25.6 million, according to figures released in May 2015 by Meeting & EventBarometer 2015. The key attractions for meeting planners are the country’s expertise, technology, sustainability, value and infrastructure.

Germany also offers outstanding sights and attractions for delegates to enjoy during or after their conference visit.

According to the International Congress & Convention Association (ICCA) Germany was ranked third, after the USA and Spain for the estimated total number of participants to all meetings organised in 2014.

German Travel Centre has 25 years experience in booking group flights for 10 or more people. They have a unique understanding of the requirements of a group organiser and of the German market, and have experience dealing with all types of group bookings whether a corporate group, sports team, school group, special interest or club, large family group, or simply a group of friends.
